My Story
I’ve spent 20 years harnessing psychology to create meaningful change.
I’m Adam Sweeney. When experienced professionals face the biggest transitions in their careers and lives, my coaching helps them to overcome their deepest challenges and unlock paths forward that seemed impossible.
I’ve spent countless hours with hundreds of senior leaders during high stakes moments in organisations - strategic resets, technological disruptions, mergers & acquisitions, new executive teams, public scandals and more besides.
I’ve worked across the UK, the US and EMEA, for a good proportion of the FTSE100, with startups, with charities, and more.
No matter where I went, I witnessed many credible, capable professionals struggling to make sense of change. They struggled even when the strategy was clear; even when communication was adept; even when leadership was supportive.
Because these times call for reinvention. And that is a personal journey. It can involve strong emotions, notions of your identity, and challenging your ideas about who you are and what you are about. My experience is that textbook leadership development, MBAs and strategy away days simply don’t solve these issues.
My coaching combines warmth and empathy and a range of neuroscience-backed techniques, with commercial and organisational experience. I’m passionate about demystifying the change process as much as possible, helping you to learn what works for you. Much research has established just how effective coaching is - and the ROI. Without exaggeration, the results can be life-changing.
This is personal for me. Having been through several mergers and acquisitions and career pivots as well as divorce in my private life, I have personal experience of undergoing dramatic change - even when it is not desired. I know first-hand that as challenging as these moments are, they offer unparalleled opportunities for personal growth.
You could say reinvention is my life’s work.
My clients draw on my business expertise and psychological techniques - whilst they stay firmly in the driving seat.

I am strongly led by psychology and neuroscience, looking at evidence-led techniques for what will actually help you change how you think, feel and behave to achieve your goals.
Often during periods of dramatic change, barriers occur because the nervous system is flooded. I help you regain a sense of control so you can access higher cognitive capacity.
Evidence shows that neuroplasticity - the building of new neural pathways - doesn’t happen only through insight, but through repeated activity. My coaching is strongly geared ensure action actually happens, and that you build strong new ways of being that endure.
-
I am trained to coach holistically, taking into account all aspects of your life. This include neurodiversity, identity, emotion and somatic styles.
Tools and templates. I am qualified in DISC personality tests and have numerous tools to deploy on everything from goal setting to values to behavioural change.
…but you are in control. I will never try a tool or technique without first explaining it to you and ensuring you feel comfortable.
